VAUXHALL COMBO CARGO IS COMPACT HIGH CUBE VAN OF THE YEAR AT GREAT BRITISH FLEET AWARDS

Vauxhall is celebrating its class-leading Combo Cargo being named Compact High Cube Van of the Year at the Great British Fleet Awards for the second year running.

• “Last year’s winner continues to impress, offering a broad range of bodies and carrying capacities in this critical sector of the LCV market,” said Dan Gilkes, Van Fleet World Editor. “Few competitors can rival the vast array of safety and driver assistance systems on offer in the Combo Cargo, and the Vauxhall is one of the few in this sector that can be ordered in full high-riding, 4x4 off-road form.

  “This is a hotly-contested sector of the van market, but for the second year running the Combo Cargo takes the Great British Fleet Award from Van Fleet World, thanks to a winning combination of load-carrying ability, driver safety and operating costs,” Gilkes continued.

  Decided by a panel of judges from across the Fleet World magazine group, the Great British Fleet Awards celebrate the best of corporate mobility in the UK and are presented in front of an audience of business leaders, fleet managers and industry executives.

  “It is a huge honour for Vauxhall to receive this esteemed award for the second year in a row,” said Richard Hughes, Vauxhall’s Light Commercial Vehicle Director. “The Combo Cargo has only received positive praise since its launch, with great feedback from customers and a number of industry accolades in addition to this newest award. The small van market gives tough competition with so many great vans, so we’re delighted that the Combo is recognised as the best.”

  The Combo Cargo model is built on an entirely new architecture and is available in a range of variants, including short wheelbase, long wheelbase and a spacious crew cab. It out-performs most of its main competitors with a load volume of up to 4.4m3, a payload of up to 1,000kg and a loading length of up to 3,440mm.

  Vauxhall’s LCV sales were buoyed last year by 20 top award wins from leading magazines such as Auto Express, What Van? and Parkers, of which the Combo Cargo won 15. So far in 2020, further to this prize, the van helped Vauxhall scoop Light Van of the Year Award in the What Van Awards and Small Van of the Year at the Company Car and Van Awards.
